Nothing like playing a lotto team to get you out of a funk. The once consistent Detroit Pistons were just what the Lakers needed to get their first victory on the board. The game not close, the Lake Show dominated from the get go and while the bench still sucked and the starters inexcusibly were put back in, it was good to get a win.
Player of the Game: Superman 2.0 continues his stellar play for the purple and gold. 28 points 7 rebounds and 3 block shots.
X-Factor: Anytime World Peace contriubes offensively it's a nice bonus, but when he has a night when he shoot 7/11 including 3/6 from downtown, it makes the Lakers are little scarier.
Should Have Been benched: Devin Ebanks, contriubed 0 points on 0/6 shooting in 12 minutes in a blowout.
Laker Hater: Jonas Jerebko had his early season hight in FG%, 3 pointers, free throws, assists, and points, mostly during garbage time, but still.
Overtime: Other than the Lake show finally getting a win, I enjoyed the New LA Kings getting beat on their own floor by the lotto bound Warriors who were without their big man and newly injured Brandon Rush. I guess they thought beating the Lakers would intimidate the other teams as they failed to come alive by waling M.A.S.H. unit. The Warriors took a big lead in the first quarter and survived a late rally capping with a defensive stance by Stephen Curry of all people. Improved top center DeAndre Jordan had 4 points and 8 boards vs Carl Landy and someone I've never heard of, to hear the Clipper commentators rave about how awesome this team is especially DJ, is quite entertaining.
